Miba AG integrates electronic signature inSign

An interview with David Lixl
(Treasury Manager)

The company Miba AG is an industrial and technology company that was founded in Laakirchen in 1927. As an automotive supplier the company produces friction linings, plain bearings, sintered components, coatings and other components. Miba AG is now represented in eleven countries with 29 sites. The strong corporate growth achieved by the company in recent years is one of the triggers for Miba AG’s digitisation efforts. In 2020, the company introduced the e-signature solution inSign.
Mr. Lixl (Treasury Manager) answered our questions in a short interview about the criteria that led to the decision.

Why did an electronic signature solution become of interest for you?

“One of the reasons was the increased efficiency, because, with a digital signature solution, turnaround times are reduced. In addition, documents are no longer lost. Last year, employees were forced to work from home. Nevertheless, it was still necessary to be able to sign documents without a scanner and printer.”

What convinced you to integrate inSign into your workflows?

“inSign is an EU-GDPR regulated provider. Our requirements with regard to data protection are fully met for all users and process participants. The integration of the product into one’s own processes is fast, uncomplicated and flexible.”

How long did the integration / introduction of the product take?

“After the test phase, the pilot was conduced within a few weeks. The organisational setup internally took a few months.”

In which business processes do you use inSign?

“The software’s main areas of application are internal documents between the companies. However, we also use inSign for NDAs and contracts with banks and customers.

What positive changes have you been able to observe so far?

“We have seen a significant reduction in process cycle times. Without inSign, a signature process took weeks, now it’s just a few days. In addition, we now have a better overview of our processes. We now always know where the document is and which signature is still missing.”

Are there any further steps planned with inSign?

“We would like to use the single sign-on. An upgrade to the qualified electronic signature (QES) using the A-Trust interface is also under consideration.”

If you are interested, we would be happy to create an individual test setup for you.
