inSign has been a key part of insurance processes for over 10 years
The electronic signature solution inSign has significantly improved processes at Münchener Verein. Signatures can now be completed quickly, securely, and without paper, both internally and for customers. Its flexibility and efficiency were particularly evident during the pandemic, when it integrated seamlessly into everyday work. Employees value the simplified workflows, while customers benefit from convenient, time-saving services. Andres Ucke, Head of IT Product Management, explains the advantages inSign has brought to Münchener Verein and how it is supporting the company’s digitalisation.
What convinced you to integrate inSign into your workflows?
“There were several compelling reasons to choose inSign. Firstly, it was an established and widely used product, already well-known in the insurance market. Secondly, we were impressed by its continuous development, the comprehensive range of features, and, in our view, its excellent user-friendliness.”
Which business processes use inSign?
“Initially, inSign was implemented solely in the sales process for our exclusive distribution network and affiliated brokers. With the first COVID-19 lockdown in early 2020, we were able to extend its use to almost all internal processes at Münchener Verein that required a signature. This had originally been planned for the end of 2020.”
How long did the integration take?
“The first phase of integration took around nine months. Most of the work went into adapting our TAA systems, print documents, and the archiving system, which previously only handled TIFF files and needed to be extended to PDFs. Expanding the system to all employees at the start of 2020 was completed in just about four weeks. Most recently, in 2023, we introduced the Qualified Electronic Signature (QES).”
Our customers primarily benefit from faster processes and greater convenience.

What positive changes have you noticed since implementing inSign?
“The benefits are clear: We now have much faster signature processes, particularly when multiple people need to sign – which is common for many internal approvals – or when the person signing is not on site. The process is fully electronic, with no paper used. Security has also improved, as documents can no longer be altered after signing. In practice, this saves significant work, for example when checking applications, because every page of a paper application used to have to be checked for handwritten changes or deletions – something that occurred frequently.”
How do your customers benefit from inSign?
“Our customers primarily benefit from faster processes and greater convenience. They no longer need to schedule personal appointments for every signature or send documents by post.”
How satisfied are you with your personal contact and support from inSign?
“We are extremely satisfied. All support is provided very promptly and has always been effective.”
Would you recommend inSign to other insurance companies?
“Absolutely, without restrictions!”
Anything else you would like to highlight?
“The introduction of inSign has not only made our processes more efficient but has also promoted an important cultural acceptance of digital working methods in the company. The rapid and positive adoption by our employees underlines the value of this solution and reinforces our digitalisation journey.”
